Weekend Today Without A Guest Appearance By Tim Russert

What a sad morning for political coverage on 'Weekend Today with Lester Holt and Jenna Wolfe'. Tim Russert was a very familiar guest on the Sunday morning show... in part to add perspective to this very historic political season and to promote his own 'Meet The Press'. The show just seemed to miss something without Russert's perspective this AM. Lee Cowan covered the Obama campaign... but the political coverage ended there. Doris Kearns Goodwin appeared recently in a spot that I think would have been Russert's. It will be interesting to see how NBC tries to keep its political coverage and rich and as unfilling as Russert made it. Still a big loss.
