It's been a while since I aggregated some of the comments about Jenna Wolfe, Amy Robach and Lester Holt of 'Weekend Today'. There are several comments with this theme from people who really like Wolfe on the Sunday edition of 'Today'.
"I'm glad that you're coming around to liking Jenna Wolfe. Her quirky style is entertaining, at least compared to the dry delivery of other news deliverers. Rememeber, the today show is as much about the personalities as it is about the story itself. This isn't headline news. "
First, I do like Wolfe in some ways. She is a very talented on-air person... in her own right. I have blogged before about the specifics of what I like about both Wolfe and Robach.... and what I don't like. My posts are more about the chemistry on the show and how easy it is to watch. Sometimes talented people are miscast.
What follows is a few of the best comments to blog posts. You can find all posts about Wolfe, Robach and Holt by entering their name in the search corner in the upper left corner of the page. Add your comments at the bottom of this and any story. Thanks for taking part!

I agree with you Jeff. Robach and Holt have a very good, natural chemistry from their days at MSNBC, and it has translated over nicely to Weekend Today. Sunday, not so much. It has been how many months since Wolfe started doing Sundays, and Holt still looks like he would rather eat nails than sit there with her. I have no idea how one can find watching such an uncomfortable Lester Holt enjoyable.

I don't see Lester uncomfortable. What I see is an unpredictable Wolfe sometimes surprising him with her comments. I think this is what is making the show different than Saturdays, but equally as good. Wolfe and Robach are different personalities but both good in their own style and delivery

Jenna Wolfe will be a star! She has presence, candor, wit and a genuine sincerity that is sometimes lacking on network TV. She was an excellent reporter and anchor person in the New York metro area and has now taken her skills to The Today Show. She is the kind of person whom you root for as she is more "one of us" than "one of them".
Her interviews are better now than when she first started on air, and that is a natural progression. She is just a fun person to watch, very creative and someone that really draws you in. I am confident that she will stay in this gig for as long as she likes. People like to wake up with someone comfortable, yet credible. Jenna is like that.

Sundays are just uncomfortable. It is like inviting over the crazy uncle for the Holiday's and being continuously nervous about what might come out of his mouth. That is the same feeling I get with Jenna Wolfe.

Jenna's voice is not soothing. She did a piece on a taser party and refrained from her most annoying humor. However, her piece on the "what I learned from women who dumped me" was dull. Also, she kept interrupting the guests with stupid mumblings.
She soaked up Ann Curry advertising Jenna's dating status.

Rather than focus on how bad Jenna Wolfe is, I would like to throw a new name for consideration for the job. I suggest the underutilized Melissa Francis of CNBC.

Well said. Jenna hasn't been doing any fluff segments lately. Come to think of it I haven't seen her at all during peak times. Her style fits with midday stay at home somebodies who don't get out of the house. She is rough around the edges and self consumed.

I would like to see Amy Robach on the Weekend Today show both days. I don't enjoy watching Jenna. I agree she is 'rough around the edges' and I don't think her 'humor' is funny. Let us have Amy Saturday & Sunday

Lester Holt is a real gentleman... how does he remain so composed when he has to co-host with Jenna Wolfe? She is constantly trying to steal the spotlight away from him and back onto herself... it is embarrassing to see. I don't watch the show on Sunday anymore because I don't want to be annoyed by her unprofessional behavior. I haven't read one nice comment about her yet. Why do you keep her on? You are losing viewers!

I am a big Today show fan and love Lester Holt on the weekends. He is articulate, charming and entertaining, but the powers that be at the Today show need to know how obnoxious Jenna Wolfe is!!! Her "attempts" at trying to be hip, cool and funny are nothing but annoying. Today is going to lose a lot of loyal fans if they continue to put Jenna on the air. With all of the talent in NY, Jenna is the "best" that you can do? Viewers say: "Put Amy Robach on as permanent weekend co-anchor"

Are you kidding me? This has turned into a jenna wolfe bashing forum largely because of you - YOU ARE PATHETIC - you jumped on her from day one and now appear to be back pedaling as she starts to adjust to the new role. You have no credibility with how you have handled this situation in my opinion. Going grom local news anchor to the TODAY show is a BIG jump and takes an adjustment period. You failed to recognize this or give her a chance. FYI, all TV stations are turning to younger, energetic personalities. Look at CNBC - Ron Insana is a a perfect case of in with the new and out with the old - he is considered to dry now for CNBC. I dont think you have any right to compliment Wolfe after months of bashing or creating a forum for bashing....
A grape in January is a grape in January even if it's a raisin in June. Same thing here- if Wolfe was horrible at the beginning, then she was horrible at the beginning no matter how much she improved. There's no reason why someone who criticized Wolfe at the beginning can't comment on her improvements later on.
And yes, going from local news to Today Show is a HUGE jump, which is why Wolfe shouldn't have been promoted so quickly (and thus subject to so much criticism). For a major news show like Today, you let your talent grow behind the scenes, and if you want him/her on air, you let them grow into the role gradually.
Thank you both for your comments. I appreciate them. If nothing more, comments spark more discussion. Passionate people usually find great engagement in more discussion. As to the first anonymous post, I agree that Jenna is getting better. I have blogged many times about that. She could be a star in the making. The two consistent themes in my early posts however were about making a news story about herself instead of the viewer... and throwing a lot of odd curve balls toward Lester. That's even better these days. Still it was blatant last fall when she started. I have wished Jenna well in many posts. She has a great job. As to creating a forum to bash her, I have not done that. The blogosphere allows all of us to blog about anything. There are many TV gossip sites that are far more harsh on on-air TV talent.
Thanks again for both posts. I appreciate it. Please continue to check back! -- Jeff

Jeff, I have been following the blogs on your site regarding the Weekend Today Show. It seems according to the May sweeps that there are ALOT of people that like the combination Robach/Holt/Wolfe. You cant argue with ratings.
Good grief NBC...have you all lost your collective minds???? Jenna Wolfe is a disaster...rude, loud, obnoxious, relenting in interrupting her co-hosts/interviewees, etc. Makes these GOD awful faces on the air...just like this morning as usual while she was out on the Plaza. She is so non-classy.....a black mark on NBC Today show for all time...YIKES...get her off..our household was blessed over the Labor Day Weekend when she was not on the air on that Sunday...what a suprisingly great gift...but again, today, she was back in all her unprofessional and non-classy person that she is. She is what she is, but does she have to be on NBC?????? Good Grief guys, get a grip already and put her behind the scenes and give the viewing audience some peace already!!!!
