Leave it to FOX to find a great way to expose it's rich news network to the millions to who gather throughout the day to way the New England Patriots takes on the New York Giants. FOX is touting it as 'Super Sunday'.
The FOX announcement boasts, "FOX News’ Shepard Smith will headline FOX Super Sunday, a three-hour event on FOX Broadcasting beginning at 9:00 am ET on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3. The special will kick off with a one-hour edition of FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace, followed by a two-hour block of political and sports coverage with Smith live from Glendale, Ariz. just two days before the 22 state primary contest on Super Tuesday.'Other major networks that have carried the super ratings grab each year traditionally schedule large pre-game sports shows and specials leading into the true pre-game and then finally the game. FOX is smartly seizing the day to try to build on its new audience for Super Tuesday.
From FOXNews.com, Marty Ryan, Executive Producer of Political Programming, FOX News, said, “We are thrilled to be providing unprecedented political coverage on Super Bowl Sunday during one of the most highly anticipated election seasons in recent history. Drawing from the best resources on national and local platforms, FOX will bring together America’s two greatest passions – politics and football.” No doubt FOX has the strength and the stamina to manhandle CNN and MSNBC on Tuesday. The Super Bowl Sunday special can only add to that strength!
